I went to my first convention, Otakon, a few years ago with my sisters Maggie and Charlotte (all names changed). We had read up on the rules and advice blogs for weeks previously, and thought we knew what we were getting into. The only advice we didn’t take was “Don’t cosplay at your first con”, because, well, we wanted to cosplay. While Maggie and Charlotte went for more low-key, obscure cosplays, I decided I wanted to be Envy from Fullmetal Alchemist.
